#051 YOU ARE NOT DEPRESSED, YOU ARE DISTRACTED (POEM)

Image
The author Facundo Cabral  wrote what you might call “a story about life” In fact it has happened to almost all of us, maybe everybody, however this poem should be music to our ears, especially when we are going through difficult situations. Enjoy it!  You are not depressed, you are distracted... Distracted from the life that inhabits you. You have a heart, a brain, a soul, a spirit, so how can you feel poor and wretched? Distracted from the life that surrounds you: dolphins, forests, seas, mountains, rivers…   Don't be like those who suffer for one human being  when there are more than 7 billion and living alone is not so bad, I have a good time, deciding what I want to do at each instant, and thanks to the solitude I know myself, which is essential in order to live. Don't be like those who feel old at 70, forgetting that Moses directed the exodus at 80 and Rubinstein could play Chopin at 90 better than anyone, just to m...

#049 FAREWELL MY PRECIOUS CHILD (POEM)

Image
The moment that you died my heart was torn in two, one side filled with heartache the other died with you. I often lie awake at night when the world is fast asleep, and take a walk down memory lane with tear upon my cheeks. Remembering you is easy, I do it everyday, but missing you is heartache that never goes away. I hold you tightly within my heart  and there you will remain. Until the joyous day arrives that we will meet again. We must accept God's will even when sometimes it is difficult to understand what happens in our world or what happens to us. He knows why he allows it to happen, we are humans and we aren't perfect but he is.

#044 NOCTURNAL TO ROSARIO (POEM) - BY MANUEL ACUÑA

Image
Well then! I need to tell you I adore you, To tell you that I love you with all of my heart; That it is greatly I suffer, that it is greatly I weep, That I can no longer do so, and in the cry that I implore you I implore you and I speak to you in the name of my last hope. I want you to know that for so many days now I have been sick and pallid from so many sleepless nights; That I have seen the death of all my dear hopes; That all my nights are black, so very black and gloomy, That I no longer know where the dawn may rise. At night, when I lay my temples heavily upon the pillow And to another world I wish that my spirit may return, I walk ever on and on, and at the journey’s end The outline of my mother fades into oblivion, And once again I see you in my soul appear. I understand your kisses will never belong to me; I know that in your eyes I will never see myself; And I love you, and in my ravings so fervent and demented I bless your derision, adore your e...

#033 DESIDERATA (POEM)

Image
Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, ...

#029 IF I DIE BEFORE YOU DO (POEM)

Image
If I die before you do, Do me a favor. Cry as much as you want, but don't be mad at God for taking me... If you don't want to cry,  don't do it... If you can't cry, don't worry. If you want to laugh... Laugh... If some friends tell you stories about me,  listen to them and believe what they say... If the praise me too much... Correct the exaggeration, If they over criticize me, defend me. If they want to make me a saint only because I die, Tell them I had some holiness in me,  but I was far from being the saint they say. If they want to make me a horrible person, show that I maybe had some bad as well, but that all my life I tried to be good. A nd on top of everything, I always tried to be a better person.  If you feel sadness and you want to pray for me, you can do it, perhaps I need your prayer. If you want to talk to me... Talk to God and  I will listen, I hope to be with him enough time to continue to be useful to ...
