#039 THINK BEFORE YOU JUDGE

A doctor entered the hospital in hurry after being called in for an urgent surgery. He answered the call asap, changed his clothes and went directly to the surgery block.  He found the boy’s father pacing in the hall waiting for the doctor.

On seeing him, the father yelled, “Why did you take all this time to come? Don’t you know that my son’s life is in danger? Don’t you have any sense of responsibility?”
The doctor looked at him and said, “I am sorry, I wasn’t in the hospital and I came as fast as I could after receiving the call and now, I wish you’d calm down so that I can do my work”.
“Calm down?! What if your son was in this room right now, would you calm down? If your own son dies while waiting for the doctor, then what will you do?!” said the father angrily.  The doctor smirked and replied, “We will do our best by God’s grace and you should also pray for your son’s healthy life, besides God knows what is the best for us and for them”.
“Giving a piece of advice when we’re not concerned is so easy” Murmured the father.

The surgery took some hours after which the doctor went out happy, “Thank goodness! your son is saved!” And without waiting for the father’s reply he carried on his way running by saying, “If you have any questions, ask the nurse”.
“Why is he so arrogant? He couldn’t wait some minutes so that I ask about my son’s state” Commented the father when seeing the nurse minutes after the doctor left.  The nurse who saw and listened everything answered, while tears were coming down her face, “His son died yesterday in a road accident, he was at the wake when we called him for your son’s surgery.  And now that he saved your son’s life, he left running to finish his son’s burial.”
Moral: Never judge anyone because you never know how their life is and what they’re going through.

    1. Certainly, needless to say that it is easy to judge other people, however when it comes to examining ourselves, that's the problem. It is so easy to find excuses.

  3. Well, my personal philosophy is ‘Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind’. From my point of view, it is not righ to judge someone based on first impressions. We should evaluate actions in order to improve, never to condem.

    1. That's right, sometimes people complaint a lot about any problem they are facing, but we don't think about the fact that others have lots of worse problems than us. Don't make a mountain out a molehill.

    1. Even if we don't know the reasons, we have to focus on helping instead of doing evil to others. Do you imagine how different the world would be? daydreaming

  5. Our human nature always judge, but we have to take some minutes in order to think about why the other person does this or thinks so; it is difficult when we are in problems, but we need to understand that we are no perfect and we do not know the life of people. Who are we to judge other people? ... if we have many mistakes in our life too. We must not pretend to judge with severity if we want to reach the mercy of God! :)

    1. Indeed, Carin as you said, we should judge anybody, we aren't perfect either. We should forgive even when it is tough. By the way have a nice trip, have a good time in South Korea :)

  6. Sometimes people judge at first sight, but we don't know what they're going through; anybody knows the life of anybody, their feelings, their problems and the events that make take some decisions, It's very easy to say "I'll never do that", however it's very difficult to do what it's right. That's why we need to judge our own life first before judging the others.

    1. Of course, It's hard to be an ethical person, to follow our principles, to do what is right but not impossible, and it's so easy to judge other people, however as I wanted to say in my previous comment we shouldN'T judge anybody, no matter what happens, who are we do to it? That's God business, we ought to live in peace and give love to others, being tolerant.

  7. Well, I think that many times we don't know what other people are going through and it is not our fault. In this case the father was too desperate and although his behavior was not the best I think the situation made him act like that. I think the correct thing would be for the father to apologize and thank the doctor's work because the important thing is to learn from mistakes.

  8. Personally I believe that It is better when you think before you speak and to think about something or someone .. nobody knows about anyone .. you do not know what is behind, what problems are going through, it is better to think before judging, it is better to think before acting, Word is like the bullet, once it comes out there is no going back and then you can regret it. Before judging you should inform yourself enough to be able to comment or make a decision.

  9. From my point of view, people mayority of time judge according what they see or what they think. To be honest, i consider that we don't have to let that our emotions control the way we look at things. I would argue that if people will stop judging we will avoid a lot of problems.

    1. Firstly, Who are we to judge someone? We aren´t perfect or the most correct person. It can be our first reaction. Maybe you are right or not, but this is a possibility but not the truth. Trying to be empathetic to analyze the people depend on the experiences that you had had. But you don't know everything. Time will tell you the truth. You have to focus on your life and don't waste time on judge the person. If you are really interested don't hesitate and make a conversation to know what you want. Think before you speak. We can see faces but not life experiences.
