#058 THE TWENTY DOLLAR BILL

A well known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, “Who would like this $20 bill?”
Hands started going up.
He said, “I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this.” He proceeded to crumple the dollar bill up.
He then asked, “Who still wants it?”
Still the hands were up in the air.
“Well,” he replied, “What if I do this?” And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.

He picked it up, now all crumpled and dirty. “Now who still wants it?” Still the hands went into the air.
“My friends, you have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20"
Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way.

We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. Values that you cherish are indeed devoid of worldly disturbance and are always your saviour.

You are special – Don’t ever forget it!

  1. As far as I'm concerned, at some point of life we feel useless and forget how much we are worth, due to life is not easy, and sometimes it knocks us very strong. Many times I've felt like the crumpled and dirty $20 bill, but I've never forgot how much I am worth. The way I see things is that everyone is different and unique, I believe that we are worth for what we are, and not for what we have.

    1. Great way of see things, you know what I guess we go through difficult times, without exception, no matter if you are rich or poor. One of the main reasons of suicides, it is this one, thinking we are nothing but a person who nobody cares for. Most of times this happens cus' we forgot to talk to God and/or to tell our problems to him or to someone in our family or maybe a friend who is real and not fake, but not the ones who leave you alone when you need them. If people read stories like this one, and apply the moral in their lives, the world would be so different. We need to learn that hard times are part of life and they help us to be stronger.

    2. Sometimes of our lives due to different obstacles or mishaps that have been presented to us throughout this time we have always doubted how much we are worth, for a comment or rumors from the people,we should be like the 20 dollar bill despite everything, never forget what I’m worth
